The Public Works Department completed its street-sign installation project in Spring 2009, with more than 1,000 new signs installed across the Village. The new signs replaced the old green-and-white signs furnished by the county, some of which were faded and illegible. The project was designed to enhance the aesthetics of the Village and create a sense of identity for the community. Palmetto Bay Also Gets New Monument Signs!
We will provide more information soon as installation of new monument signs begins at four strategic locations welcoming motorists to Palmetto Bay. Here's a sneak peek at the sign design schematics. Eco-friendly LED and solar-powered, the signs will be installed at four strategic locations: SW 138 St. on US 1 (facing north); SW 183 St. on US 1 (facing south); SW 136 St. and Old Cutler Road (facing west); and SW 183 Terr. and old Cutler Road (facing west). The construction/installation contract was awarded to Hialeah-based Acolite & Claude United Signs Co. (AcuSigns). The signs were designed by Tom Grabowski Assocs., Inc. We'll keep you posted when and where the first sign will be installed.
